There are four main storage solutions in the REL portfolio
Grain Storage Sheds
Bulk Grain Silos
Hopper Silos
Temporary Bulk Storage

Grain Storage Sheds
More and more large-scale farmers and contractors are looking at the feasibility of building a bulk grain shed. Along with the benefits of quick and easy loading and unloading of bulk grain lines, the use of drying floors, fans, heaters and stirrers means this system can give you the same control over your grain storage & drying as you used to get only with a silo system.

Bulk Grain Silos
Silos are a cheaper and more versatile option for smaller lines. The same benefits of aeration, drying, stirring and unloading can be included in a silo complex. From a manually operated drying system to a fully automated Shivvers drying & unloading system, REL has an option that suits your farming operation.

Hopper Silos
REL’s extensive range of hopper silos means smaller lines of speciality crops can be safely stored with aeration and drying options as well. The extra cost per stored tonne is countered by the benefit of using gravity to unload the silo.

Temporary Bulk Storage
The Temp-Stor temporary grain storage system can be installed in any available space with minimal site preparation. Normally a raised pad of 100mm crushed limestone is sufficient. The modular, pre assembled construction allows quick erection of an unlimited number of capacity configurations from 500 tonnes upwards.

There are a number of systems available to control the aeration and drying of your crop.
A drying system works with air being forced through a crop at a low enough relative humidity level that will absorb the excess moisture for the crop and then expel that moisture out through the venting system.

Controlling the humidity is best done using an automated system that takes the guesswork out of the equation. A controlled humidity system works equally well in a 500 tonne bulk grain shed as in a 200 tonne silo. Stirrers speed up the drying time and are an integral part of the modern drying system, as is a ventilation system that matches the aeration and drying fan output. Now available, a fully automatic ‘in-bin’ grain drying & unloading system to suit existing or new silos.

The Circu-Lator is a complete, totally automated grain handling and drying system.Wet grain from the field is unloaded directly into the drying bin. The grain is dried and automatically transferred to storage bins which may be located over 30 metres away. The Circu-Lator System can be easily expanded, fitting the needs of operation handling from 160 to 8000 tonnes per year.

No other drying system can match this combination of built-in surge capacity, totally automatic drying, and push-button grain handling

Simple Operation
Start your fan, heater and Circu-Lator. Fill the silo to any level with wet grain. The Circu-Trol (control panel) automatically starts the Circu-Lator when the bottom layer of grain becomes dry. The Tapered Sweep Auger rotates around the silo removing dry grain in a thin even layer.

This dry grain is pulled to silo center where it is elevated to the top by the Center Vertical Auger, and is transferred to the storage bin for cooling by the Continuous Flow Auger. The Circu-Trol stops the Tapered Sweep when all the dry grain has been removed, automatically starting it again when necessary

The Circul-Lator system
can also be used as a
Recirculating Batch
Dryer once all storage
silos are full.

To move your crop to another silo or to a transport truck, the use of augers has long been the standard. A large range of augers is on offer at REL, including the renowned Westfield brand.
Westfield & Wheatheart Grain Augers are not only better by design, strength, and overall balance; you can choose the exact size, capacity and drive style. From 8, 10” and 13” diameters, lengths from 36 to 111 feet and the option of PTO, shaft drive, gas motor and or electric motor drive depending on your needs and preference.

A more recent handling option is the REM Grain Vac – a perfect unit for flat bottom silos and sheds. With a full silo, the REM Grain Vac can shift up to 160mt/hr. Cleaning up the bottom of the silo is quick and easy with the ‘clean-up nozzle’
supplied as standard.

A lot of contractors and cartage companies benefit from this mobile Grain Vac technology as it allows them to work faster, cleaner and safer, particularly with today’s health and safety requirements in mind.

100% Kiwi-made silos branded “REL”
Available in two size ranges – 3.66m (12’) and 3.0m (10’).
Both ranges are transportable by road, fully built up.

REL 3m silos
•Capacities of 12m3 to 36m3 – 7.5 tonnes to 23 tonnes pellets
•Cone base is a standard 55º to suit all feed types
•100% galvanized steel
•The 3m silo is not “over-size” so does not need to be piloted this means that freight prices are kept to a minimum for areas some distance from Rakaia e.g. Southland, Central Otago, Westland and Nelson-Marlborough

REL 12’ silos
• Capacities from 33m3 to 60m3 – 27 tonnes to 48 tonnes wheat
• Cone bases come in 30º, 40º & 55º to suit all feed types from whole grain to palm kernel
• Galvanized steel silo with painted steel hopper base

REL Grain Storage and Handling ensures every aspect of the seed storage and handling process is sound. Quality components of well known and respected manufacturing brands are imported.Naturally, price is then influenced by movement of the US dollar. As a proactive business REL Grain Storage and Handling are able to offer quality silos at competitive prices. We buy in bulk, taking full advantage of lower prices, and passing on the benefits to our clients. When importing isn’t economically viable, we rely on our own locally manufactured high-end products, ensuring clients still have access to quality goods at a competitive price.

At all times we are actively looking for ways to keep you covered, effectively and efficiently.
